About Paragon
Paragon Testing Enterprises Inc. develops, delivers, and licenses in partnership with other organizations English language proficiency tests including the Language Proficiency Index® (LPI®) and the Canadian English Language Proficiency Index Program® (CELPIP®). We also develop, deliver, and license in partnership with other organizations online and written self-study materials, test preparation programs, and test delivery and registration software.
Our Background
Paragon Testing Enterprises Inc. was created as a wholly owned subsidiary of The University of British Columbia (UBC) in August 2009. Paragon acquired the English language proficiency tests and related assets of Applied Research and Evaluation Services (ARES) on October 1, 2009. ARES had operated as an ancillary, service unit of UBC since 1996 and prior to that time as Educational Measurement Research Group (EMRG) which began in 1986.
