Paragon Testing Enterprises is pleased to announce that Ashton College in downtown Vancouver, British Columbia is now an official CELPIP Test Centre. They will be offering all three versions of our CELPIP Test (CELPIP-General, CELPIP-General LS, and CELPIP-Academic). The first test sitting is scheduled for Saturday, May 25th, 2013. Currently the CELPIP-General and CELPIP-General LS tests are scored from a level of 0 (the lowest) to 5 (the highest), with sublevels for 2, 3, and 4, respectively.  As of May 3, 2013, the CELPIP-General and CELPIP-General LS Test level 5 will also include sublevels 5L and 5H.  The chart below summarizes the changes.

CIC requires applicants for the Start-up Visa Program to demonstrate their language proficiency at the Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 5 which would be a 3L on each component of the CELPIP-General Test.

Level 5H Effective (High) or Advanced Proficiency – CLB 10, 11 and 12
Level 5L Effective Proficiency (Low) – CLB 9
Level 4H Adequate Proficiency (High) – CLB 8

Level 3H Developing Proficiency (High) – CLB 6
Level 3L Developing Proficiency (Low) – CLB 5
Level 2H Minimal Proficiency (High) – CLB 4
Level 2L Minimal Proficiency (Low) – CLB 3
